It's always been our choice
67Harmony,
peace
and understanding!
Yeah, God thought it was all good
and into the grand design
he also drew up the plans
for respect,
dignity
and goodwill!
Originally it was godwill
but God being humble as He is
decided to add another 'o'
and invent a new word
'goodwill.'
Yes sir, God was pleased.
It was a job well done.
He just had to hope for the best
those humans down there
could assemble the whole mix together
and serve it up
as an organized, coherent
new world treaty
for future generations to live
and abide by
to cherish and obey.
There was only one problem.
God put down His draughting pencil
and went to sleep.
Yes, God takes naps too.
That's when bad things happen.
The devil snuck around
and stole God's vaunted blueprint
subverting the sacred text
into a profane litany
which seduced mankind
making the human race think
they were pretty good at it.
At that point life became complicated.
Temptation is a powerful aphrodisiac
and man was a convenient poster boy
on how to foul up a good thing.
I mean he couldn't even make a decent cup of coffee,
let alone trying to keep his hand out of the cookie jar.
Now you know and I know
there are two different books of blueprints
circulating around
these days.
It has segregated the world into different groups
and into different ways of thinking.
The internet is a breeding ground for both ideologies
and yet it all starts with a baby's alphabet building blocks.
From there as we grow and learn
the journey becomes even more interesting and varied.
Which path did you choose
and from what book of blueprints
did you choose to read?

I drew up my own blueprints--threw away the old religion's hypocrisy--live by a code of just what's right, and nevermind those who think it's their business to stick their hypocritical noses into MY business....and give them "what for" if they try.
Hello Mr. Word Man, great to read. Voted up and awesome my friend, Joyce.
This is really great writing!!
Free Will! Wow what a mavelous creative thought! For without freewill we would be all robots. God in his wisdom surely knew that it is better to love freely..not because we are made too because we want to. Thanks Epi! Very profound and could be understood so many different ways.
Hugs,
Sunnie
Now that is the question. Great write
Wow! if I've said it once, I've said it 1000 times .. "You are amazing!" I'm a student of Divinity, and there are a couple of things in here that I'm going to have to kick around a little, but Colin, you are a bad mo fo my brother!
I may a miss a few days of commenting because I'm pretty jammed up right now, but it will be just a few days, and I'll be thinking about you while I'm gone. Keep up the good work my man!

Quite the deep read here. Some powerful words - well done. Rated up!
Epi, this deep understanding of the human nature and the erudite explanation of the things happening and why they are happening deserves applause. You seem to be in a transitional phase and reflecting on the things around you. Keen observer with a poetic bend of mind. That's what you are Sir. Loved this title.

Colin, you hit the nail on the head once again. I hear those who speak of world peace and world government as if all people think and act alike. In reality, it could not be further from the truth. We have enough trouble making decisions here in the states where we are suppose to be of a similar mind set. Unfortunately some of our citizens assume that freedom and liberty are a given that they never have to be concerned about them. Those who do not worry about freedom and liberty are destined to lose it. No doubt. Nice work! WB
Epi..Amazing words put together to create near perfect sentences! I believe there are more options than the 2 offered here. I also believe in to each their own and live and let live.
Loved this:'I mean he couldn't even make a decent cup of coffee,
let alone trying to keep his hand out of the cookie jar.'..LOL..Thanks! awesomeandup!
Bravo, Epi. Your hub really hits the point. In a life full of free will and making choices, your message here gives us the okay to make up our minds. In the end, the few chosen ones will know if their decisions were the right ones to make. Thank you, I have to get back to a steady reading digest of these wonderful poetic feasts you have created here!
Hi Epi,
This one is very profound and thought provoking.
I choose goodwill and to vote this brilliant piece up and away!
Very meaningful, Colin, and written like a sage.
But even if we all had the same book, I doubt we would all be on the same page.
Voted Up! This was EXCELLENT!
Voted up and interesting. I live by the code - never let go of the hand of the Lord. He will see you through the rough times.
"Temptation is a powerful aphrodisiac
and man was a convenient poster boy
on how to foul up a good thing."
How very true. I think Im made up of a bit of both sets of blue prints.
Epi - I love this! I voted you WAY up and awesome and everything!
This is very profound and deep. I am glad you mentioned the internet because internet users are not immune to either books.
Outstanding, Colin. One of the most profound and meaningful of all your amazing poems, I think.
God bless you.
Free will let us discern between good and bad...the black and white...so true Colin...what a marvelous creation...
i like this very much, Colin. Very deep and entertaining read.
I love it Colin.

my dear Mr. C, this was fantasric! Loved the slant. Wonder if he woke up just in time to write that verse (somewhere) about man being unable to direct his own steps? Great hub!
Wonderful thoughts my friend. Knowing just how messed up we can be, from the start the mistakes we have made over the years just to get to where we are now. Pain is a beautiful teacher, life is amazing. In light and love always, Johnny
Powerful question at the end. Goodwill to all!
wow Colin I am amazed.. this is awesome.. I have never read anything like this from you.
I love it

Wow, Colin.
I'm thrilled to see this, and applaud your all-encompassing awareness. You understand people, observing and listening...your comprehension produces poems of intimate whispers to the absurdly bazaar....you store the data in that magnificent brain of yours and when you decide to write narratives like this, your words challenge and stir action.
Well done.
